Weekly Update – 28/11/2016

First piece of news: I bought my domain name. That means you can find me at amynotdorft.com with no wordpress at the end. Yay!

Otherwise, I received an interesting update the other day about a project and because of that I’ve been really busy these past few days making promo stuff (hence the late post). Thank you for your patience! I will share more information as I can.

Anyway, not too much happened last week release-wise — just a few Secrets chapters. You can find them below.

November and December are very busy months for me (it’s a tradition to make handmade gifts for Christmas plus I have an event I’m prepping for) and so aside from a little site maintenance and my scheduled Secrets updates, you probably won’t see too much from me.

As always, thank you for checking out my blog (and hopefully my writing)! To those finishing up NaNoWriMo… you guys are amazing. Whether you met your goal or not, give yourself a pat on the back for all the hard work you put in! And keep writing!

Weekly Update – 19/11/2016

So first and foremost… yes. It is finished:

If you click the above image it will take you to my latest horror story – just as requested. I would love to hear what people think of this one. It was inspired by a novel I wrote back in April for Camp NaNoWriMo and I would very much love to turn it into something bigger. Specifically a series of connected short stories.

I also released two chapters of Secrets and Skin this week, which you can find below:

As mentioned last week, I will be adding a chapter release per week for Secrets. Chapter 34 will be available this upcoming Tuesday. I would like for the novel to be available in its entirety by Christmas, or New Year’s at the latest so I can focus my attention on other projects. Don’t get me wrong, I love Secrets… but I’m eager to move on.

There probably won’t be too many short story or Ganymede releases over the next few weeks because I am incredibly busy, but I promise that there will be a preview for a new project with the end of Secrets.

Speaking of which… I better get back to writing. Have a good weekend everyone!

Weekly Update – 12/11/2016

Yep… so that date up there is a bit of a lie. Today is actually Sunday, November 13th but technically it’s an update for last week that should have come out yesterday and I’m a horrible person.

Alright, so this week has been a disaster – sick kid and personal health problems – so I am admittedly behind. Secrets and Skin is up to date though, so that’s something! You can find this week’s chapters here:

In case you didn’t notice, I did promise you a horror story this (aka last) week. I failed to meet that promise and I apologize. It is in the works and I’m kinda excited about it to be honest. In lieu of an actual story… I will tell you that it is based on a novel I wrote for Camp NaNoWriMo earlier this year and I am interested in turning it into more than just a one off. It’s very distinct from Host and I think it plays on a different type of fear. Which is to say… I really hope you guys like it. I swear to the elder gods that it will be out this week.

To make up for my tardiness I will tell you a secret. A secret about Secrets. That secret is this:

It is complete. I am still doing some edits but I can promise that it will be fully released by the new year. That means some bonus chapters will be coming out soon, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

Finally, I have the Amazon link for my collaboration with Paris artist Rita Guiducci: Winter’s Child. In case you missed it, Winter’s Child is a Christmas book aimed at children and adults alike. It is filled with stunning pastel and water colour illustrations.

If you missed the Christmas in Paris event this weekend, you can still pick up the book from Amazon HERE.

Alright, that’s all from me for now. If you have any questions or feedback about anything, please feel free to leave me a comment below!

Weekly Update – 4/11/2016

So the results of the poll are in and it looks like Horror is the winning genre. That means I’ll have a brand new horror short story for you next week! I’m not sure about the exact day yet, but likely closer to the end of the week. I have been playing with a couple ideas for this one and I’m excited to see where they lead.

As for this week, we had two releases for Secrets and Skin as well as an episode release for Ganymede. You can read them below:

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hallowe’en Contest and What Next?

I have some exciting news today! In case you missed it, my short story Host was entered into a Hallowe’en Contest run by Wattpad’s Urban Fantasy Community. There were two awards to be won: The Reader’s Choice award (determined by votes) and the Ambassador’s Choice award (decided by the Wattpad Ambassadors heading the community). Thanks to everyone who voted, Host won the Reader’s Choice award! Now, this award was passed down the second place winner (Ghost Hotel by Amy Lance, which was fantastic by the way) because… Host also won the Ambassador’s Choice award!

I’m so excited and, to thank you all for your support, I’m going to do a little something extra for next week. I want your input, so let me know what you’d like me to do in the poll below. (I’ll run a poll on Twitter too and combine the results). If you choose “Other” make sure you let me know your idea in the comments below! If you have any other feedback (about my writing, the site, or whatever) please feel free to let me know! I’d love to hear from you. ❤
